Privacy policy
Last updated September 16, 2026
This policy covers this website (w5n.ai) and the WeLearn app (app.w5n.ai). It explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and what you can ask of us.
Who we are
WeLearn ("we", "us") is responsible for the data described here. For anything about your data, write to hello@w5n.ai.
What we collect
When you visit this website
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves. It records the pages you view, which sections you scroll to, which buttons you click, your browser, device type and country. It sets no cookies and doesn't store your IP address, so it can't identify you. The site sets no cookies of its own.
When you create an account
- Account details. Your email address and a password, which we store only as a hash. If you sign in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn, we receive the email address from that account (and, for LinkedIn, your basic profile) instead of a password.
- Learning content. Your goals, your answers in the interview, quizzes and conversations with the tutor, and the courses, lessons and progress generated from them.
- Technical data. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and server logs (IP address, browser, time of request) kept for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run your account and build and deliver your courses.
- To send emails about your account, such as address verification and password resets.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To understand how the site and app are used, and to improve them.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your data to train AI models.
If you're in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction: we process account and learning data to provide the service you signed up for, and analytics and security data based on our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure service.
Who processes it for us
- OpenAI generates lessons and tutor replies from your learning content. Under its API terms, OpenAI doesn't use this data to train its models.
- Contabo hosts our servers and database in Germany.
- Bunny.net delivers this website through its content delivery network.
- Brevo sends our account emails.
- Google, GitHub and LinkedIn, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that applies, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account in the app's settings, we delete your email address and any linked sign-in accounts, and anonymize the rest, so the courses left behind can no longer be tied to you. Server logs are deleted after a short period. Analytics data is anonymous from the start.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we process it. Write to hello@w5n.ai and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
WeLearn isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
